OUR LIFE CHURCH STORY
In November 2024, a group of 8 friends met in the home of Dave and Chrissy Adkins to seek God about planting a Church in Mission. By November 2025, that family of friends had grown to 80 people including kids. During that time, our church community grew together through prayer and encountering God together, monthly potlucks, church-in-the-park, community events, Alpha, New Day worship event, youth outreach with SoulBox band and serving the lost and broken. God has continued to move, and we are now meeting at the SDA building, 7th Avenue, Sundays at 10am.

THE TEAM
The Life Church leadership team are friends first. Being led by the Holy Spirit, and God's word, we share responsibility for guiding, overseeing and supporting the family, mission and ministry of Life Church. It’s essentially the core group that points people to Jesus and helps the church function effectively: spiritually, organizationally, accountability and relationally. The team’s purpose is to love the church, provide oversight and vision, shepherd and support, disciple, and equip others.

PASTOR DAVE
Dave and Chrissy Adkins, love to see people encounter Jesus. Their prayer is God’s kingdom advancing through both the Church and marketplace.
Originally from London UK, and large relational church network, they have called Canada home for over 20 years—living in Toronto and now beautiful British Columbia—where they enjoy life with their grown children and grandchildren.

Serving in both church plants and large church ministry , Dave and Chrissy followed God’s call to plant Life Church Mission with friends in March 2025. The heart of Life Church is to know God and be a relational church family that reaches the lost and makes disciples that make disciples; seeing lives transformed by the love and power of Jesus.

OUR LIFE CHURCH MISSION
We exist to know Jesus and make Jesus known. God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, creator, almighty and immutable. He made humans in his own image; this gives us ultimate worth.

Knowing Jesus, God’s son, is the only way to God—the objective truth behind all reality, revealed through God’s word and the Holy Spirit-empowered life we’re all longing for! Jesus sacrificed His life on the cross for to pay the penalty of our sin and was resurrected so that we can know God personally and resurrection life. This is the heart behind all we are and all we want to do as a local church.
Make Jesus known, Jesus’ Kingdom - The healing and restorative work of God in us isn’t just for us; it’s for the whole world! Jesus invites us, not just into our own journey of formation, but to become those through whom his Kingdom comes to the world—agents of gospel renewal. The same presence of Jesus that transforms us is able to transform our city. Living life with Jesus allows the Kingdom of God not only to come to us but through us as we love and serve others.
